COMMAND
INSTRUMENT RATING
The Command Instrument Rating Course has been designed
around the use of the ATC-810 Cabin Class simulator. This preparatory step to flying the Beech
Duchess, means flight manouvres and standard operating procedures can be safely taught
and practised prior to attempting them in-flight. The simulator is a high fidelity training tool
that, combined with our highly skilled instructors, will teach you skills directly transferable to flight.
The Beech Duchess is well equipped for IFR training. Fitted with a Garmin 430 GPS, King Avionics suite (including dual
NAV/COM, RMI, HSI and Dual ADF) it provides an excellent
training platform where the principles and techniques
previously learnt in the simulator can be applied. Rating will include NDB, VOR, LLZ and ILS.
The cost for the Command Instrument Rating conducted at Ad Astral Aviation
currently averages $16,500. This varies depending on the individual's actual experience, aptitude
and attitude towards training.

Ad-Astral is located at Perth Domestic Airport. This offers easy and quick access
to all navigational aids without the need for expensive and time consuming
transit flights. As Perth is a Class C control zone, valuable experience operating
amongst international and domestic jet traffic can be gained. For overseas license
conversions, Perth offers the familiarity of Class C airspace, easing the conversion
process. In addition, as our final destination is always Perth, an instrument approach
to a full stop landing is guaranteed. This ensures the training value of each sortie
is maximised.
