CIR RENEWAL
Whether its your 1st renewal or you 22nd, Ad Astral Aviation provides a relaxed environment in which to
complete your renewal. For those who are experienced and proficient with instrument flight you are welcome
to book a renewal with our ATO at anytime and this can usually be done at with reasonably short notice.
Our standard flight test lasts approximately 1.5 hrs and you will be expected to fly a standard radar departure,
NDB approach, demonstrate assymentric cirlcling, handle an engine failure in the after takeoff configuration,
miscellaneous airwork followed by an ILS (more often than not via a DME arc).
GNSS RNAV approaches may be conducted in our simulator for renewal.
Ad Astral can provide our Beech Duchess for your renewal for a fixed fee.
This includes aircraft hire, navigation charges, approach charges, landing charges and test fee. Should you have
your own aircraft, our ATO can test on the following aircraft:

CIR RENEWAL REFRESHER PROGRAMME
Should you be low on instrument experience or it is your first renewal, our instructors are well
equipped to prepare you for what most claim is harder than the initial issue. In this case we
recommend at least a practice with an instructor in our simulator and if necessary a refesher ride
in the aircraft. This is of course on a "as required" basis and provided your instrument rating has
not expired for more than two years you may do as much or as little training as you deem necessary. However
experience has shown that those attempting a renewal with very low time or little recent experience under
the IFR require some training.
Our renewal refresher programme will bring most pilots up to the required standard. However the programme
is always tailored to the individual only that which is required to achieve the necessary standard is completed.

Our Renewal refresher programme, if completed in its entireity (incl. flight test), can be achieved for less than $3000.00
EXPIRED CIR RENEWAL
Have you let your rating lapse for more than twelve months? No problem.
Your test now has to cover some additional items however this represents little extra cost for our
flight test. In order to complete an expired renewal you will require some training in order for our
Chief Flying Instructor to recommend you. The amount of training varies from person to person.

CIR Sim course example
Ad-Astral is located at Perth Domestic Airport. This offers easy and quick access
to all navigational aids without the need for expensive and time consuming
transit flights. As Perth is a Class C control zone, valuable experience operating
amongst international and domestic jet traffic can be gained. For overseas license
conversions, Perth offers the familiarity of Class C airspace, easing the conversion
process. In addition, as our final destination is always Perth, an instrument approach
to a full stop landing is guaranteed. This ensures the training value of each sortie
is maximised.
