GNSS RNAV (NPA) TRAINING

GNSS RNAV (NPA) approaches present significant advantages over other NPA approaches such as convenience, accuracy and availability. However they also bring a unique set of associated difficulties in terms of situational awareness, workload and receiver standardisation. With this in mind Ad-Astral has developed a syllabus that deals with all of these issues to provide you with superior skills when conducting this approach.

Our ATC 810 Synthetic Trainers have been equipped with KLN89B GPS units, ideal for initial GNSS RNAV (NPA) training. Once proficient, you will be briefed and trained on the use of the Garmin GNS 430, one of the most common GPS systems today, as fitted in our Beech Duchess. Our all inclusive fixed price training package includes your flight test and fee*.

The GNSS RNAV (NPA) training is available as an add-on package to the CIR or can be conducted as a seperate training module.

Ad-Astral is located at Perth Domestic Airport. This offers easy and quick access to all navigational aids without the need for expensive and time consuming transit flights. As Perth is a Class C control zone, valuable experience operating amongst international and domestic jet traffic can be gained. For overseas license conversions, Perth offers the familiarity of Class C airspace, easing the conversion process. In addition, as our final destination is always Perth, an instrument approach to a full stop landing is guaranteed. This ensures the training value of each sortie is maximised.
